This indicator presents data from the Flash Eurobarometer survey on Women in times of COVID-19. The survey was commissioned by the European Parliament in 2022, to gather women’s opinions on the impact of the pandemic on violence against women, mental health, and the wellbeing of working women.
The field work for the survey took place between January and February 2022. The data presents findings from 26,741 interviews with women (EU citizens), aged 15 years and older. The survey is based on a sample size of 500 in Luxembourg, Cyprus, and Malta, and 1,000 in all other EU countries.
Ipsos European Public Affairs surveyed a representative sample of women via computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI), using Ipsos online panels and their partner network. A portion of responents in Luxembourg and Malta were recruited via social media networks.
Survey data was weighted to marginal age by gender, activity status and region population distributions using rim weighting. Averages for the EU 27 were weighted based on the size of the 15+ population of each country.
