Calculations are based on microdata from the European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS), coordinated by Eurofound. The survey aims to represent the population of all employed persons aged 15 or older.
The question considered is question Q49b from the 2015 EWCS survey in the EWCS Integrated Data File, 1991-2015: Would you say that for you arranging to take an hour or two off during working hours to take care of personal or family matters is ... ? 1 All of the time; 2 Almost all of the time; 3 Around ¾ of the time; 4 Around half of the time; 5 Around ¼ of the time; 6 Almost never; 7 Never.
For each response category, the indicator is calculated as the percentage of employed persons who answered the question using this response category out of all respondents who were asked to respond to this question.
The selection of relevant questions from the EWCS surveys to be included in the database was based on the following criteria:
