Calculations are based on microdata from the European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS), coordinated by Eurofound. The survey aims to represent the population of all employed persons aged 15 or older.
The question considered is question Q84b from the 2015 EWCS survey in the EWCS Integrated Data File, 1991-2015: Over the past 12 months how many days have you worked when you were sick? ___ days.
The indicator is calculated as the mean number of days out of all responses given by persons who answered the question (excluding those answering 'not applicable', 'don't know' or refusing to answer).
