Description:

This indicator breaks down non-eligibility for parental leave by main reason, i.e. by the eligibility conditions these men and women in employment do not meet in each Member State (e.g., do not meet the conditions of employment or are excluded due to being self employed). Data from EU-27 + UK, 2017.

Please note that:

  • Data for Belgium and Greece are calculated based on those in public sector employment only. These figures have the flag d (definition differs) in the data table.
  • In Czechia the only reason recorded for ineligibility was personal household characteristics, a reason not applicable in any other Member State. The data for Czechia in relation to the reasons of does not meet employment conditions and self employment consequently both show 0%.
