Description:

The data in this table are based on the surveys EUROBAROMETER 83.4 (May 2015) and EUROBAROMETER 91.4 (May 2019). The data show what percentage of all respondents have selected each answer (from 0="Not mentioned" or 1="Mentioned") when asked the question "In (OUR COUNTRY) when a company wants to hire someone and has the choice between two candidates with equal skills and qualifications, which of the following criteria may, in your opinion, put one candidate at a disadvantage?"

From the 2015 to the 2019 survey, the following changes were made to the answer options.

The following options were removed: “The candidate’s skin colour or ethnic origin”; “The candidate’s gender identity (being transgender or transsexual)”; “The candidate’s age, if he/she is over 55 years old”; “The candidate’s age, if he/she is under 30 years old”

The following options were added: “The candidate’s ethnic origin”; “The candidate’s skin colour”; “The candidate’s gender identity (being transgender)”; “The candidate being Roma”; “The candidate’s age, if they are considered as too young or too old”; “The candidate’s sex characteristics (being intersex)”
