The data in this table are based on the surveys EUROBAROMETER 83.4 (May 2015) and EUROBAROMETER 91.4 (May 2019). The data show what percentage of all respondents have selected each answer (from 1="Totally uncomfortable" to 10="Totally uncomfortable", or DK="Don't know") when asked the question "And using a scale from 1 to 10, please tell me how you would feel about having someone from each of the following categories in the highest elected political position in (OUR COUNTRY)? '1' means that you would feel "totally uncomfortable" and '10' that you would feel "totally comfortable"

From the 2015 to the 2019 survey, the following changes were made to the answer options.

    The following options were removed in 2019: “A transgender or transsexual person”

    The following options were added in 2019: “A transgender person”; “An intersex person”; “A Roma”; “A person with a different skin colour than the majority of the population”

    The following amendment was made from 2015 to 2019: “A person under 30 years” to “A person perceived as young”; “A person older than 75 years” to “A person perceived as old”
