The data in this table are based on the surveys EUROBAROMETER 83.4 (May 2015) and EUROBAROMETER 91.4 (May 2019). The data show what percentage of all respondents have selected each answer (from 1="Totally uncomfortable" to 10="Totally uncomfortable", or DK="Don't know") when asked the question "Using a scale from 1 to 10, please tell me how comfortable you would feel with people in each of the following groups showing affection in public (e.g. kissing or holding hands). '1' means that you would feel, "not at all comfortable" and '10' that you would feel "totally comfortable"."

The following amendment was made from 2015 to 2019: "Heterosexual couples" to "A man and a woman"; "Gay couples (two men)" to "Two men"; "Lesbian couples (two women)" to "Two women"
