Calculations are based on microdata from the European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS), coordinated by Eurofound. The survey aims to represent the population of all residents in a survey country aged 18 or older.
The question considered is question Q76 from the 2016 EQLS survey in the EQLS Integrated Data File, 2003-2016: In the last 12 months, have you, or someone close to you, received regular (at least several times a week) help or care from any of the following people? [Family members, friends or neighbours in your/this person’s home]; [Someone outside the formal health and care services who was paid for their help] 1 Respondent used it; 2 Somebody in the household used it; 3 Nobody used it.
This question was only asked in 2016, therefore no time series data are available.
For each response category, the indicator is calculated as the percentage of persons who answered the question using this response category out of all respondents who were asked to respond to this question.
