Description:

This indicator presents data from the EU survey on gender-based violence against women and other forms of inter-personal violence (EU-GBV survey). The first wave of this survey was conducted jointly by Eurostat, EIGE, and FRA between September 2020 and March 2024.

This indicator shows the percentage of women who have experienced sexual violence during childhood, by type of perpetrator. It distinguishes between the following types of perpetrators:

  • Perpetrator: male or female
  • Perpetrator: male
  • Family member or relative: male or female
  • Any known: male or female
  • Other known (non-family or relative): male or female
  • Stranger: male or female
