The data in this table are based on the survey EUROBAROMETER 73.2 (February - March 2010). The data show what percentage of all respondents have selected each answer when asked the question "QC8. I am going to read out a list of ways that can be used to combat domestic violence against women. For each of them, please tell me to what extent you think it is useful or not?" Regarding “Proper enforcement of existing laws”, the respondents were told that this includes not only legal measures such as punishment of perpetrators, but also other measures such as shelters for women who have been victims of violence, divorce mechanisms, and restraining orders.
