Description:

This indicator presents data from the European Commission’s 2024 flash Eurobarometer survey on gender stereotypes and violence against women (FL544).

It shows the percentage of respondents who find the following types of sexualisation and objectification of women to be acceptable or unacceptable:

  • Displaying images of women with sexual connotation in advertising.
  • Men body gazing, ogling, catcalling or whistling at women.
  • Men making suggestive comments or allusions about a female colleague’s appearance at work.

The indicator presents data for women, men, and total respondents.
