Description:

This indicator presents data from the EU survey on gender-based violence against women and other forms of inter-personal violence (EU-GBV survey). The first wave of this survey was conducted jointly by Eurostat, EIGE, and FRA between September 2020 and March 2024.

This indicator shows the percentage of women who have experienced violence by a non-partner since the age of 15, by type of perpetrator. The indicator distinguishes between the following types of perpetrators:

  • Non-partner: male or female
  • Non-partner: male
  • Non-partner: female
  • Family member or relative: male or female
  • Family member or relative: male
  • Any known perpetrator: male or female
  • Any known perpetrator: male
  • Other known perpetrator (non-family or relative): male or female
  • Other known perpetrator (non-family or relative): male
  • Stranger: male or female
  • Stranger: male
