Description:

The data shows the percentage of respondents that have selected the answer “yes” when asked the following question: “Q8. In the last 10 years, have you, or a person who depends on you used public services such as …  By “dependent person”, I mean a person that you care for, such as a child or older parent.”

A list of public services was shown to the respondents and the respondents gave a separate answer for each service.

Results are broken down by the following categories of weekly hours of unpaid care work: 

  • Less than 21 hours
  • More than 21 hours
  • Total

Results are presented at the EU28-level and for the following country-clusters:

  • North-western countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Kingdom
  • Southern countries: Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain
  • Eastern countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia
  • Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden
