Percentage (comparable)
Description:

This indicator shows the difficulties reported by regular platform workers, who work more than 20 hours per week, to organise their work schedules.

The indicator is based on responses to the question. Thinking about your experience of working via online platforms in the past 6 months, how often were you faced with the following situations:

  • I was able to secure tasks/ work assignments via online platforms according to my plans or schedules
  • I worked fixed starting and finishing times
  • I could plan when and how much I would work via platform(s) well in advance
  • I had to reject a task/ work assignment because of my other commitments
  • I worked on nights and/ or weekends
  • My working hours on platform(s) were scattered throughout the day, in between other activities
  • I was distracted by my other commitments (e.g., other work, urgent housework, family matters, etc.) when performing tasks/ work assignments via online platforms

Respondents were asked to indicate ‘Never, rarely, sometimes, often or always’.

More information on the methodological aspects of EIGE’s survey of platform workers can be obtained in the technical report.
