Description:

This indicator shows differences in income within the household of platform workers.

The indicator is based on responses to the question: Considering all sources of income, between you and your partner or spouse, who has the higher income?

  • My spouse or partner has no income
  • I have a higher income
  • We have about the same income
  • My partner or spouse has a higher income
  • I have no income
  • Don't know

Shown only to respondents who live with their partner.

This indicator is disaggregated by the education level of the respondent. Responses were grouped into three levels of education according to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED): “Low” (ISCED 1-2), “Medium” (ISCED 3-4) and “High” (ISCED 5-8).

ISCED levels are:

  • 1. Primary education or less
  • 2. Lower secondary education or equivalent level
  • 3. Secondary education (e.g. high school)
  • 4. Post-secondary education non-tertiary (e.g. technical education lasting minimum 6 months)
  • 5. Short-cycle tertiary (e.g. advanced vocational education lasting minimum 2 years)
  • 6. University: Bachelor’s or equivalent level
  • 7. University: Master’s or equivalent level
  • 8. University: Doctoral (PhD) or equivalent level
