Description:

This dataset shows how many hours in a typical week respondents are involved in housework. The numbers indicate what percentage (%) of all respondents who are involved in housework have selected each hour band.

Respondents were asked "How many hours in a typical week are you involved in housework?" They selected one hour band from the following list:

  • 1-7 weekly hours (e.g. approx. 1 hour per day)
  • 8-21 weekly hours (e.g. more than 1 up to 3 hours per day)
  • 22-35 weekly hours (e.g. more than 3 up to 5 hours per day)
  • 36-49 weekly hours (e.g. more than 5 up to 7 hours per day)
  • 50-70 weekly hours (e.g. more than 7 up to 10 hours per day)
  • 71 or more weekly hours (e.g. more than 10 hours per day)

This indicator is disaggregated by the age of the respondent. Five categories are used: 16-24; 25-49; 50-64; 65 or more.
