Frequency of use of digital tools and resources in unpaid work, by type of unpaid work activity and age group eige_gap_dig__ggs_dig_digital_age

Time format:
Years
Unit:
Percentage (comparable)
Description:

This dataset shows how often people use digital tools and resources in three types of unpaid work: (1) informal long-term care, (2) childcare, and (3) housework. For each of the three types of work, the numbers show what percentage (%) of all respondents who are involved in the respective type of work have selected each frequency category for that type of work.

This dataset is based on the following question: ‘How often do you usually use digital tools and resources in any way related to…?’

  • Your role as a carer for people who depend on help with daily living activities (e.g. E-health tools, web platforms / apps with reminders about medications)
  • The childcare activities you perform (e.g. online learning, childcare management apps and tools, leisure time tools)
  • The housework tasks you perform (e.g. vacuum robot, smart homes, robotic lawn mowers, ordering grocery delivery)

For each type of work, respondents selected one frequency category from the following list:

  • Daily
  • Several times a week
  • Several times a month
  • Less often
  • Never

This indicator is disaggregated by the age of the respondent. Five categories are used: 16-24; 25-49; 50-64; 65 or more.
