Description:

This dataset shows how often, over the last 12 months, those with childcare responsibilities for their own children under the age of 18 received unpaid help with these childcare responsibilities from relatives, friends or other people. For the purposes of this dataset, "own children" also include step-children and adopted children (but not grandchildren or children of other relatives). The numbers indicate what percentage (%) of those with childcare responsibilities for their own children under the age of 18 have selected each frequency category.

Respondents selected one frequency category from the following list:

  • Every day
  • 4 to 6 days a week
  • 1 to 3 days a week
  • Less often
  • Never
  • I did not need it
