This dataset shows the reasons why parents of children aged 0–5 were unable to access all the formal early childhood education and care services they needed.
The figures indicate what percentage (%) of the target population selected each reason. The target population are all respondents who use early childhood education and care services and were unable to receive all the services they needed.
The dataset is based on the answers of carers to the question ‘Why were you unable to access all the formal early childhood education and care services (e.g. kindergarten, day care centre, a crèche) for your children aged 0–5 years that you needed?’
Respondents could select up to three reasons from the following list:
This indicator is disaggregated by the employment status of the respondent. It groups respondents as: Employed, Self-employed, Unemployed or Inactive.
