Description:

This dataset shows what percentage (%) of people who provide childcare to their own children (aged less than 25) do so for children in each age group. For the purposes of this dataset, "own children" also include step-children and adopted children (but not grandchildren or children of other relatives).

Respondents reported whether they provide childcare to their own children in each of the following age groups:

  • 0–5 years old
  • 6–11 years old
  • 12–17 years old
  • 18–25 years old

This indicator is disaggregated by household type. For the purposes of this indicator, five household types are distinguished:

  • Single without children
  • Lone parents or single cohabiting with children
  • In a couple without children
  • In a couple cohabitating with children
  • Other
