This dataset shows the reasons why long-term care recipients did not receive all the care they needed from care services. The numbers show what percentage (%) of the target population selected each reason. The target population are those respondents whose main care recipients (a) use care services and (b) were not able to receive all the care services they needed.
Long-term care refers to a range of supportive services and medical assistance provided to individuals who require extended or ongoing help with activities of daily living, for a minimum of three months.
The dataset is based on the answers of carers to the question ‘Why did your main care recipient not get all the care that she or he needed from care services?’ The question was asked only to those respondents who had previously indicated that their main care recipient used care services and that she or he had not been able to get all the necessary care from those services.
