K1b. Proportion of women and men in climate change decision-making bodies at the national level in the EU Member States: senior administrators bpfa_k__wmid_env_natmin_admin

Time format:
Years
Unit:
Percentage of total (comparable)
Description:

For monitoring Area K of the BPfA, a series of indicators (K1 to K3) look at the gender balance amongst key decision-makers in European and national level authorities dealing with policies related to environment/climate change, energy, and transport and amongst EU representatives in relevant international bodies.

This indicator covers senior adminstrators (civil servants) in national ministries with responsibility for one or more of the afore-mentioned policy areas. The data are compiled annually as part of EIGE's regular data collection on women and men in decision-making. The full set of underlying data can be found in the Environment and climate-change entry point of this database.

EIGE's data collection on women and men in decision-making: methodology

Positions covered:

  • Level 1 administrators: the highest level of administrative (non-political) positions in ministries with competences in environment, climate change, energy and transport
  • Level 2 administrators: the second level of administrative (non-political) positions in ministries with competences in environment, climate change, energy and transport
  • Senior administrators: sum of level 1 and level 2 administrators
