For monitoring Area K of the BPfA, a series of indicators (K1 to K3) look at the gender balance amongst key decision-makers in European and national level authorities dealing with policies related to environment/climate change, energy, and transport and amongst EU representatives in relevant international bodies.
This indicator covers the representatives from the EU participating in bodies implementing the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), an international treaty which provides a framework for the 195 Parties to work together to consider what can be done to limit average global temperature increases resulting in climate change, and to cope with its impacts. The data are compiled annually as part of EIGE's regular data collection on women and men in decision-making. The full set of underlying data can be found in the Environment and climate-change entry point of this database.
