  • The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international treaty which provides a framework for the 195 Parties to work together to consider what can be done to limit average global temperature increases resulting in climate change, and to cope with its impacts. Two UNFCCC bodies are covered:
    • National Delegations to the Conference of the Parties (COP) — All States that are Parties to the Convention are represented at the COP, the highest political decision-making body of the Convention;
    • National Delegations to Subsidiary Bodies (SBs) — There are two permanent Subsidiary Bodies (the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation). These bodies (collectively known as SBs) provide support to the COP in technical matters (ad-hoc working groups are also included in the count, as applicable).
