J1a. The proportion of women and men in decision-making posts in media organisations in the EU: public broadcasters bpfa_j__wmid_media_pbrc_exec

Time format:
Years
Unit:
Percentage (comparable)
Description:

This indicator considers the gender balance in key decision-making positions in publicly owned media organisations (broadcasters). The original indicator (see 2013 Council conclusions) was defined in response to a one-off survey undertaken by EIGE, which identified four levels of decision-making within a small sample of both public and private media organisations. The relevant data are available under the historical data subfolder of this entry point. The level of detail required to populate this indicator was considered impractical for routine data collection so EIGE's annual data monitoring the gender balance in decision-making in media organisations cover only board members and senior executives (in line with the approach for other areas of decision-making) and only public broadcasters.

This indicator shows data for senior executives, separately identifying the CEO, and non-executive directors (in total and excluding employee representatives). The full set of EIGE's regular monitoring data on media organisations is available
