Description:

H2a. Personnel resources of the governmental gender equality body

Indicator H2a relates to BPfA strategic objective H1 and the strengthening of institutional mechanisms. More specifically, indicator H2a aims to assess whether the governmental gender equality body has adequate resources to fulfil their mandate.

The indicator is scored in relation to the absolute number of people employed by the gender equality body. In the data for 2021 and 2024, in cases where the body has a wider equalities remit so that some or all staff work either entirely or partly on issues other than gender equality, the overall personnel resources are adjusted on the basis of a broad brush estimate (0-25%, 25-50%, etc.) of the proportion of time devoted to gender equality issues, always using the upper limit of the range. The data take into account multiple bodies where relevant. In previous years, the data requested referred to full-time equivalent numbers of staff working on gender equality. These numbers have been scored using the approach for 2021 but the figures may not be comparable.
