For each group by working time and sector, the gender pay gap is calculated as the difference between the average wages for women and for men as a percentage of the average wages for men:

The available data do not allow a strict separation of public vs. private sector employment. Using the NACE Rev 2 classification of sectors, the following aggegates of NACE categories are used as proxies:
